Everyone's skin is made up of layers of epidermis. While the epidermis' deepest level is affected (and damaged) by sun tanning, sunless tanning safely affects the uppermost level of the epidermis. In order to achieve your beautiful tanning results, Travel Tans uses a solution, which contains DHA (dihydroxyacetone) to safely bond your tan with your epidermis. It's important to know that DHA has been approved by the FDA for over 30 years and that no allergic reactions have been reported. The solution provides you with a safe and instant tan.

The tanning process only takes about 20 minutes, and you will start to see color results in the next 2 to 24 hours. Women may choose to remove undergarments to avoid tan lines, though men are required to keep all undergarments on.

After your tan is sprayed on, we recommend that you wait at least 8 hours before showering to ensure that the tan takes hold. While the cosmetic bronzer in the DHA will come off easily in the shower, the actual tan will last anywhere from 5 to 10 days, depending upon your skin type and how well you follow our recommended Spray Tanning Care guidelines.
